I have for you five Hillbilly Horror Books (Part 1) you have to add to your WTF did I just read TBR list!
Only because I must choose five, there are so many more where these come from.
I absolutely love Horror movies and books to do with crazy nasty Hill-Billies, and I am aloud to say Hill-billy because I grew up in those areas, so calm down Karen.
A good backwoods horror book is so nostalgic, I mean think Wrong Turn, The Hills Have Eyes now think of all the scenes you don't get to see. Guess what in books, they leave nothing out. These five books are from some of my very favorite Indie authors.
Before I get started, I just want to reiterate that the books that I recommend are WTF Did I just read kind of books, meaning trigger content galore, if you are easily effected by horror, splatter, death and sexual assault do not read these books. You have been warned… Alright now that the weak are gone here is the list for the rest of you below.

1. Rest Stop by Eric Butler

What a fun read, this novella goes in and goes in fast. I have heard it compared to Rob Zombie’s House of 1000 Corpses, so obviously I had to read it. I am so glad that I did. It follows two girls, traveling with their uncle. They stop at a rest stop and then, well shit goes bad. I won’t give any spoilers, but this read was gruesome and even with the small number of pages it sucks you right in.



2. The Bighead by Edward Lee

Okay… The Bighead, exactly what it sounds like. Inbred, tall, horny and angry and lets not forget Hillbilly with a big head, an appetite for murder is as big as his head.
If you have read Edward Lee before then you know what to expect, if you haven’t, maybe lube up your brain with some lesser than splatter punk first. You can’t just shove an Edward Lee book into your innocent head dry.
In Eminem’s Words, The Bighead was born with a di#k in his brain, effed in the head.


3. Suffer Hard by Sam West

I have been loving diving into Saw West’s books, so much fun and gore. This book follows some friends who stay at an Air B&B in a ghost town and take the hillbilly owners’ advice on where to grab a bite to eat.
Freaking awesome, gruesome and extremely WTF Splatter Horror book.


4. Farm Animals by Ash Ericmore

I love Ash Ericmore, this was one of my very favorite of his books. Following a couple going for a picnic in a small town full of evil. I had so much fun with this, it was almost a ride down nostalgia like a Wrong Turn movie, everything that 2000’s horror movies brought to our life. Hillbilly Murder heaven.



5. No One Rides For Free Series by Judith Sonnet

Dude…. You cannot even get yourself ready for what these two books are going to put you through. Two hillbillies just wreaking havoc on a stretch of highway, two extremely evil hillbillies that is.
This is one of my very favorite series and I cannot recommend this enough.

  Five Cannibal Horror Books to add to your TBR list: Part One Who doesn't love a good Cannibal book, maybe you say you don't but, I mean , youre literally reading this right now.  I love the genre personally, even before I started reading I would love to find movies such as Green Inferno  2013  cannibal   horror film  directed by  Eli Roth  or Cannibal Holocaust 1980 Film  Directed by Ruggero Deodato. With Robert Kerman, Francesca Ciardi, Perry Pirkanen, Luca Barbareschi.
